Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information is collected when you visit brianwalkerwrites.com (the “Website”), the author website of Brian Walker, and how that information is used. The Website is intentionally simple: it has no user accounts, no newsletter sign-up, no advertising and no analytics tracking.

Information you choose to send

If you use the contact form, you provide your name, email address, an optional phone number, and your message. This information is used only to read and reply to your message.

When you submit the form, your message is sent by email to info@brianwalkerwrites.com through the Website’s email provider (Hostinger’s Titan email service). The Website itself does not save your message in a database. Copies remain in the receiving mailbox for as long as they are needed to correspond with you.

Information collected automatically

• Server logs. Like most websites, the hosting provider (Hostinger) records standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. These logs are used for security and to keep the Website running.
• Spam protection. To prevent abuse of the contact form, an irreversibly scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address and the times of recent submissions are stored temporarily on the server. These records expire after one hour.
• Error logs. If an email fails to send, a technical error description is logged privately. The contents of your message are not included.

Cookies

The Website sets a single, strictly necessary session cookie, and only on the contact page. It protects the form against misuse (cross-site request forgery) and is deleted when you close your browser. No advertising, analytics or tracking cookies are used.

Links to other websites

The Website links to Amazon, where the books are sold, and to Brian Walker’s Facebook and Instagram pages. Those sites are operated by third parties and have their own privacy policies. Any purchase you make is handled entirely by Amazon.

Sharing your information

Your information is not sold, rented or shared for marketing purposes. It is processed only by the service providers needed to operate the Website and deliver email (Hostinger and its Titan email service), or where required by law.

Your choices

You can ask for a copy of the messages you have sent, or ask for them to be deleted, by emailing info@brianwalkerwrites.com.

Children

The Website is not directed at children under 13, and personal information from children under 13 is not knowingly collected. If you believe a child has sent personal information through the contact form, please get in touch and it will be deleted.

Changes to this policy

If the way the Website handles information changes, this page will be updated and the date above revised.
